♥ A Never Ending Dream

August of 2007, Pinoy viewing habits of primetime television sizzles because of her arrival. The Mexican heroine became the Filipina tube Siren of today. Her sleek and slender body, her envious long curly hair, her handsome beau Sergio, her hip swaying dance moves and who would have forget her loyal dog comrade? All this makes us Filipinos fall madly in love with her story once again.

But is that eye candy that brings back the Mari Mar craze? I think every Filipino fell in love with her story for it depicts some of our values and attitudes towards life itself. We remain strong in times of great trouble, we remain humble even in times of success and sometimes we exonerate those who cause us pain all in the name of love.

Mari Mar taught us some lesson to live by. That is to still believe in the power of love and friendship. All throughout the story her struggles to win and fight her love of her life may sometimes seems so tiring yet the flame of her perseverance still sizzles every episode night. She also taught us the value of real friendship despite the status quo of the society (remember funny Corazon and Fulgoso?). She also reminded us the importance of loving our family and respect for the elderly.
It may sound so corny or cheap, but the show as it had come to the end, not only my family but also many households in the Philippines will treasure her story and the morals that we have erudited from her. After all, we are all Mari Mars in our own twisted ways!
